Education city trend to expand with deal

The signing ceremony confirmed plans for further IECs in Vietnam

In early July, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited the International Education City (IEC) in the central province of Quang Ngai. The IEC was developed by NHG at a proposed investment of VND1.5 trillion ($64.5 million), and will offer education programmes for some 12,000 students. Construction on the city began in 2018, and it is set to open in the next two years.

Speaking highly of the IEC, which will apply IT extensively in operation, management, research, and study, PM Phuc described it as an advanced education model considered for replication nationwide. He urged IEC managers to complete its education programme so as to train high-quality human resources.

The IEC is the first world-class education complex in Vietnam that offers education programmes from kindergarten to PhD education, including an international integration programme, an international bilingual programme, and other international programmes from various brands, such as SGA, iSchool, and GDU. In addition, the IEC is also associated and affiliated with leading universities and partners around the world to develop vocational training, ensuring international interconnection and transfer in an educational ecosystem.

IEC projects aim to offer young generations a superlative education

Dr. Tran Xuan Thao, deputy CEO of education research and development affairs at NHG said, “Through this co-operation, NHG is step-by-step realising the vision of turning the IEC project into a leading international education ecosystem with the mission of providing a modern education environment, contributing to the training and education of the young generations of Vietnam.”

The signing ceremony took place under the witness of the leaders of both groups and Kyle Nunas, Consul General at Consulate of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City.

“It is great to see the fantastic strategic partnership between a leading Canadian design firm and Nguyen Hoang Group, a leading high-quality educational organisation,” said Nunas. “This co-operation will bring tangible benefits to generations, while visualising the growing partnership between Canada and Vietnam.”

According to the agreement, NHG appointed B+H Architects to advise the design and planning ideas for projects of the IEC. In addition, B+H Architects will co-ordinate a team of experienced and professional experts to build up a design plan of international level, yet still meeting the situations and construction regulations in Vietnam.

“Through the work of the Nguyen Hoang Group and their revolutionary IEC model, we will together usher in a new generation of educational campuses that will redefine the delivery and quality of education for Vietnam and its citizens,” Marshall added.

With the goal of creating a creative and comprehensive educational environment for students, NHG is in preparation for future IEC projects in many key cities and provinces in Vietnam such as Haiphong, Thanh Hoa, Hoi An, Daklak, and Bac Lieu.
