Facing the situation, City International Hospital is prepared to deal with a potential COVID-19 outbreak and is currently focusing on implementing prevention plans. Up until February 19, 2020, the hospital (CIH) has received no suspected or COVID-19 infected patients.
Deputy medical director of City International Hospital Assoc. Prof. Dr Tran Quang Binh said, “The hospital has not received any suspected or COVID-19 infected patients.”
In compliance with the directions of the Ministry of Health, CIH has promptly set up a screening process for patients, staff, and visitors right at the main entrance before they can even enter the hospital. If suspected, patients will be placed in a separate room until they can be sent to the Tropical Hospital.
Otherwise, routine medical examination and treatment activities at City International Hospital remain as usual.
In compliance with the directions of the Ministry of Health, CIH stands ready to respond and has quickly implemented disease prevention measures through wide-ranging activities such as establishing an Infection Prevention and Control Team, COVID-19 response drills, continuing medical education (CME) focusing on the COVID-19 epidemic with the latest updates, as well as health education about the disease and disease screening at the main entrance of the hospital.

Before entering the hospital, visitors are given face masks at the main entrance and booklets containing updated information and instructions to prevent the disease, as well as have their body temperature measured by the staff. Patients and visitors showing symptoms of fever, coughing, or shortness of breath will be directed to the isolation area for further checkup and monitoring.
In many areas of the hospital, especially crowded places with many patients and visitors, such as the elevator area, administrative area, as well as the registration and reception areas, all have information on pneumonia protective supplies, hand sanitizer, and face masks.
Information on the disease and data of COVID-19 are constantly updated on City International Hospital’s fan page (https://www.facebook.com/BenhVienQuocTeCity/) and official website (https://cih.com.vn/en/).
