118 enterprises and associations trained in greenhouse gas inventory |
The training scheme on GHG inventory and the development of the domestic voluntary carbon market was designed to equip participants with comprehensive knowledge, ranging from basic to advanced levels, on issues related to GHG inventories.
The training content covered aspects such as measurement, reporting, verification, and inventory methods, as well as guidance on effective emission reduction planning.
Participants were thoroughly trained on topics including types of greenhouse gases, the greenhouse effect mechanism, and their extensive impact on global climate change. The programme provided tools and methods for GHG inventory, planning for carbon emission reduction, and developing emission reduction projects, enabling individuals and organisations to participate in the domestic voluntary carbon market.
The initiative aimed to enhance the practical capacity of individuals, organisations, and businesses, helping them effectively participate in environmental protection initiatives. Through this, the scheme made a positive contribution to achieving Vietnam's and global greenhouse gas emission reduction goals. It serves as a solid foundation for businesses to leverage climate finance opportunities while meeting increasingly stringent legal and environmental standards.
“The workshop's success marks a significant milestone in raising awareness about GHG management and developing the voluntary carbon market. It also lays the groundwork for future training schemes, contributing to building a high-quality workforce and utilising initiatives towards Vietnam’s net-zero targets and sustainable development,” said Luu Le Huong, a representative of the Institute of Strategy, Policy on Natural Resources and Environment.
Participants included entities from the Vietnam Cement Association, Vinamilk, Goshi Thang Long Auto Parts, Koyu Textile Vietnam, Dynapac, Bridgestone Tire Manufacturing Vietnam, Nissei Eco Vietnam, Honda Vietnam, Aiden Vietnam, Inoac Vietnam, Matsuo Industries Vietnam, Seaps Vietnam Company, Daiwa Plastics Thanglong, JFE Shoji Steel Haiphong, Nitto Denko Vietnam, Nidec Vietnam Corporation, Nidec Powertrain Systems, Tsukuba Diecasting Vietnam, YKK Vietnam, Mabuchi Motor Danang, AGC Chemicals Vietnam, Fujikura Electronics Vietnam, Interfood, Kirin Vietnam, Obayashi Vietnam Corporation, CSB Energy Technology, Fujikin Vietnam, Yazaki EDS Vietnam, and Sumitomo Corporation. |
