The best apprentices of the Bosch TGA programme were honoured at the recent graduation ceremony

The Bosch TGA programme, established over 100 years ago in Germany, has been adopted and developed in Vietnam since 2013. The curriculum features 25 per cent of theoretical study time at LILAMA2 International College of Technology and 75 per cent of practical training, during which apprentices can work with modern equipment at Bosch Powertrain Solutions Plant based in Long Thanh district in the southern province of Dong Nai.

“This programme provides young people with the opportunity to improve their employability. Being a TGA apprentice, besides being trained in knowledge and skills, thanks to the full tuition waiver and the monthly allowance, I can support my parents and become more financially independent,” said Nguyen Thi Xuan Thuong, a third-year student, class of 2017-2021.

TGA (German: Technisch Gewebliche Ausbildung) can be understood as “Vocational training workshop”, which is a concept that has been practiced and improved at Bosch for more than 100 years. Until this day, the TGA model has been adapted with more than 100,000 apprentices in many countries around the world.

As of April 2020, 168 Vietnamese students have joined the Bosch TGA programme

In Vietnam, TGA apprentices are trained by a team of highly-skilled professionals in a modern learning environment. All tuition fee and facilities are sponsored by German tech giant Bosch Group. The German standard programme aims to improve the employability of the country’s young labour force.

As of April 2020, 168 students have been studying at Bosch TGA (24 per cent of whom are female students), and 88 of them have graduated. In 2020, TGA is launching new courses with 24 students studying Mechatronics.

Similar to the previous years, the admission procedures of TGA require high school transcripts of the last three years (2018-2020), followed by the IQ, EQ, and face-to-face interviews to select the 24 best candidates with the aspiration to participate in this free and high-quality vocational programme.

This is a valued chance for those with a passion for engineering who want to have a practical and holistic studying experience.
