Specifically, a coast guard boat CSB 2001 has left Cau Island in Vung Tau, a AN 26 plane has taken off from Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, and a SAR 413 rescue boat has left Vung Tau to join the search for the crashed Boeing 777 plane.
They are moving south toward the area where the plane crashed at 1:40 am local time (1840 GMT Friday).
In addition, seven other aircraft including a AN 26 plane and six helicopters including four Mi-171 helicopters are ready to join the search.
Meanwhile, nine boats inclduing five of the naval force from Phu Quoc Island, two coast guard boats from Phu Quoc and Khoai Isle, two rescue boats from the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center are also on standby.
The plane was carrying 239 people from 14 countries from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Beijing, China when it crashed.
There is no reports of casualties so far.
