Today, SCG together with Tan Binh Youth Union and Khan Quang Do Newspaper celebrates the International Children Day for 500 children in Ho Chi Minh City at SCG Sharing The Dream Playground located in Hoang Van Thu park.

Apart from joining various knowledgeable, creative and fun activities, the children also receive scholarships and many useful gifts for welcoming the new academic year. This is the second event of SCG for kids in International Children Day this year, after the first one taking place at Ba Ria – Vung Tau Disabled Children’s Training School, and a part of many programs SCG has organised to enhance children development in Vietnam and to celebrate the 99th year of SCG’s operation.

Chalokeporn Phalajivin, general director of Vina Kraft Paper Company, a subsidiary of SCG in Vietnam said: “We are glad that since SCG built the Sharing The Dream Playground in Hoang Van Thu Park, the children have safe outdoors space to play and the parents have a place to spend time with their children. For us, helping the children to have fully development is also as important as improving their living condition. We hope that this event was able to create a healthy space for children to develop, in line with Action Month for Children started by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.”

Seeing that human resources are the most important asset of country’s future development,SCG Sharing The Dream Playground was completed in February under the cooperation of SCG, Khan Quang Do Newspaper and The Youth Union of Tan Binh district. With a total investment of $97,000, exclusively sponsored by SCG, the playground is freely open to all local residents.

Featuring a collection of high quality playground equipment, sponsored by business units of SCG, the playground is expected to have positive effects on children’s total development and enhancing the quality of life of Vietnamese families as part of SCG’s long term commitments in sustainable development to provide better welfare, contribute to social development and enhance the quality of life in communities where it operates.
