>>VietjetAir joins Vietnamese air service market
The company’s deputy general director Nguyen Duc Tam tells VIR the airline’s plan to sustain and develop in current tough market conditions.
Can you offer us a snapshot of VietJetAir?
VietJet Air will fly to both local and international destinations as a low-cost airline using a fleet of state-of-the art Airbus A320 aircraft. Our motto is to increase people’s flying opportunities through flexible and reasonable pricing policies. At the inception, VietJet Air will fly between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, then it will fly to Danang in the central region in early 2012 in the meantime open new routes to other local destinations within 2012.
Is VietJet Air poised to take its maiden flight soon?
This October, VietJet Air inked contracts to lease three aircraft from Kuwait’s Alafco Aviation servicing its plan to spread wings in late 2011. These are modern aircraft in use for around one year fitted with top-grade leather seats and latest facilities. This showcased the management’s commitment to put VietJet Air into operation before the year’s end.
The fresh airline also finalised important preparations for finance, human resources, payment and an agent system. VietJet Air almost completed all procedures to take wings this Christmas season.
Could you shed some light on VietJet Air’s new generation airline concept? How the airline has prepared to make the ambition come true?
To realise the strategy to turn VietJet Air into a new generation airline, our management has worked out a well-conceived investment plan and made thorough preparations in finance, technology and flying fleet.
We have also developed an extensive commercial system, comfortable distribution channels and a professional and hospitable cabin attendant team. This was the dividend of long-time preparations and great determination by VietJet Air managers and all staff members.
Our pilots are all foreigners being trained up to international standards with a wealth of experience flying with prestigious local and regional airlines. The cabin attendants were also trained abroad to ensure rendering professional services.
Through VietJet Air, our founders wish to bring quality, cost-effective and interesting flying experiences to passengers. Under the motto ‘More affordable costs, flying more’ we hope to please all partners and customers and take a better care of the community.
