The award was given to VIB based on the bank’s contributions to the country and its business results, essential labour policies and corporate social responsibilities through environmental protection, charity and education sponsorship activities.

Since its establishment in 1996, VIB has always paid due attention to corporate social responsibilities, which are regarded as the lodestar in the bank’s business operation. In particular, the bank has sponsored various events including granting scholarhips to students of Foreign Trade University and Academy of Banking, raising funds for children with the delta disease, victims of the collapse of Can Tho Bridge, people in the flooded central provinces and the Operation Smile, and financing construction of houses for poor people in southern Kien Giang province and the Truong Bon historical relics in central Nghe An province.

In addition, the bank has also won a range of titles and awards from prestigious organisations nationally and internationally, including "Strong Brand of Vietnam", "Bank with The Most Satisfying Retailing Services", "Bank with Excellent International Payment", and ”Bank with the best customer service” and ranked the 3rd among 500 biggest private enterprises in Vietnam in terms of revenue as voted by VietnamNet.
