Turkey PM tells Merkel most of dead in Istanbul attack are Germans

ANKARA; Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Tuesday (Jan 12) offered his condolences to German Chancellor Angela Merkel over the suicide bombing in Istanbul, saying most of the 10 people killed were Germans.

"There are at leat nine Germans among the 10 killed," a Turkish government official told AFP after the suicide bombing ripped through the historic Sultanahmet district, wounding 15 others

The Anatolia news agency quoted the prime minister's office as saying: "Davutoglu expressed his sadness over the deaths of the 10 victims, most of whom were German and presented his condolences to" the chancellor.
