This year, the programme will grant 85 scholarships worth VND510 million (about $23,000) to outstanding young talents of five musical universities and colleges under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) nationwide. Especially, 2015 is a remarkable milestone in TMV's history of establishment and development with 20-year anniversary.
Since 2009, Toyota Vietnam Foundation has been implementing the Toyota Scholarship for Vietnamese Young Music Talents to encourage Vietnamese young music talents to make more effort in study and improve their skills to become real artists in the future, as well as making more contributions to the education and human resources development of Vietnamese music. Up to now, 645 scholarships has been awarded to musical students nationwide.
“Through 20 years of development, with the philosopy of becoming a good citizen, Toyota Motor Vietnam V has been making strong efforts to contribute to development of Vietnam society, focusing on four areas of traffic safety, education, environment and culture – sports,” said Yoshihisa Maruta, chairman of Toyota Vietnam Foundation and president of Toyota Motor Vietnam. “In which, music is one of the important areas, that we focus on, to enrich people’s mind. Thus, Toyota Motor Vietnam has organised Toyota Classics, Toyota Concert tours and Toyota Musical Scholarship annually.”
