With the global economy prioritising green growth and reducing emissions, green initiatives and certifications have become essential credentials, unlocking new opportunities for visionary investors eager to expand into developed markets.
Striking a balance between profitability and environmental consciousness, eco-industrial parks (eco-IPs) stand to deliver tangible economic benefits, all while enriching livelihoods in surrounding areas.
In Vietnam, where industry the primary driver for development, the shift to eco-IPs has become an essential trend, strongly supported by the government’s 2050 net-zero emissions goal. Though reaching these green standards demands time and initial investment, the benefits are significant, drawing foreign investment, gaining tax incentives, introducing new tech, and fostering sustainable growth.
The mission ahead
As eco-IPs are still in their infancy, Prodezi and its development partner, Huong Viet Holdings, are pioneering this trend by launching Prodezi Eco-IP in Long An province. Covering 400 hectares with an investment of $191.67 million, it is the first eco-IP in Long An and the largest in the Mekong Delta region.
Construction is set to begin in November, with the eco-IP ready for handover by Q2 of 2025. The IP boasts a distinct advantage by taking into account eco-friendly criteria from initial planning, complying with existing regulations.
Set for completion in late 2025, a highway will cut travel time from Ben Luc district to Ho Chi Minh City and seamlessly link with major transport networks like beltways 3 and 4, giving Prodezi convenient access to key airports and seaports.
Strategically positioned at the intersection of Provincial Road 830 and Luong Hoa-Binh Chanh Avenue, just five minutes from Ho Chi Minh City’s outskirts, Prodezi Eco-IP sits along the My Quy Tay-Luong Hoa-Binh Chanh corridor, one of Long An’s six critical development arteries.
As a gateway between Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta, Prodezi Eco-IP is ideally positioned to attract skilled local talent as well as having access to a large pool of untapped labour from the Mekong Delta, enabling businesses to optimise labour costs, improve efficiency, and increase productivity.
A representative from Prodezi said the park was born from a vision and long-term commitment to sustainable industrial development. “We understand that true growth cannot be separated from sustainability. Prodezi is not just an industrial park; it is an ecosystem where businesses can thrive harmoniously with nature and the surrounding community,” said the representative.
To achieve this goal, eco-industrial leaders have chosen to partner with Chitose Bio Evolution, based in Singapore, leveraging core technology and business functionality from Japan’s Chitose Group.
In October, Prodezi and Huong Viet Holdings signed an MoU with Chitose Group and TA Vital to deliver wastewater treatment solutions for the eco-IP. This collaboration brings wastewater treatment, organic fertiliser production, and soil-free hydroponics to the park, reinforcing the company’s dedication to a sustainable ecosystem where industry harmonises with nature and community.
“With advanced technology provided by Chitose Group and TA Vital, we are committed to ensuring efficient park operations, contributing to Vietnam’s sustainable development, particularly in the Mekong Delta, aligned with our objectives,” added the Prodezi representative.
Dual pathways to sustainability
Prodezi’s dedication to sustainability shines through its innovative eco-industrial and urban development model. Alongside the eco-IP, the 100-hectare LA Home eco-township is being developed in unison. Linked by Luong Hoa-Binh Chanh Avenue, these two projects form an integrated ecosystem that seamlessly blends living and working spaces.
If Prodezi meets all eco-industrial standards, LA Home embodies eco-urban living standards. With a construction density of only 30 per cent, LA Home’s residential area features a central 2.2-ha park, seven pristine green canals, and an impressive eight ha of green spaces and water features, creating a balanced living environment.
LA Home meets the most demanding needs with inter-level schools, healthcare centres, an open air market, and modern amenities including vibrant commercial streets, a shopping centre, and a clubhouse. The 1-ha multifunctional sports complex is now open, serving residents, the local community, and Prodezi employees.
Prodezi Eco-IP presents a pioneering model with international-standard infrastructure, comprehensive amenities, an advantageous location, competitive lease rates, and generous tax incentives. This prime industrial space near Ho Chi Minh City is complemented by professional management services.
“With strong local support, we are ready to welcome long-term strategic investors, especially in high-tech and environmentally friendly industries, in order to position Long An as a reliable green industrial hub on Vietnam’s map,” said Prodezi Eco-IP’s representative.
Deal signed for sustainable development at Prodezi Eco-Industrial Park On October 23, Prodezi and Huong Viet signed a MoU with Chitose Group and TA Vital on collaboration in providing wastewater treatment solutions for Prodezi Ecological Industrial Park (eco-IP). |
