Japanese Unshu tangerines are seedless with thin skin and brilliant yellow colour. In October 2021, the ban on the import of Japan’s Unshu Mikan tangerine was lifted.
From mid-November, AEON Vietnam coordinated with suppliers to quickly bring this specialty fruit to domestic consumers. On November 23, during his official visit to Japan, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, former Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide and Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance Nikai Toshihiro also attended the ceremony to export the first batch of Unshu tangerines from Japan to Vietnam.
“So far, Vietnam has imported apples, pears, and Unshu tangerines from Japan. We hope to continue promoting the import and export in each of the markets of specialty fruits such as muscat grape of Japan, longan and pomelo of Vietnam in the near future,” Okabe Daisuke, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam said.

The representative of AEON Vietnam also said that in the first days of opening for sale, Unshu tangerines received attention and love from many Vietnamese customers. The firm will continue to promote connections to introduce more products to meet the needs of Vietnamese customers.
