As a multinational company producing and distributing famous energy drinks such as Red Bull and Warrior, TCPVN, a subsidiary of TCP Group, has gained the trust and support of Vietnamese consumers with its high-quality products.

Thanks to a quality-focused strategy, TCPVN’s energy drink products have rapidly gained popularity among young people since their launch. According to a market report for the second quarter of 2021 by Kantar, up to 72 per cent of consumers nationwide choose Red Bull as their trusted brand. Meanwhile, 53 per cent of consumers in big cities like Ho Chi Minh City put their trust in Warrior products.

These achievements are an outcome of TCPVN’s commitment to consistent high quality and, in a broader sense, its sustainable development plans pursued from the very first days in the Vietnamese market. Sustainability has been a top criterion in all corporate activities at TCPVN.

COVID-19 not only a battle for frontline forces

TCPVN - Creating sustainable values and positive energy for all Vietnam

TCPVN has been a reliable companion to Vietnam in developing the economy and promoting corporate social responsibility (CSR). The company thoroughly understands its responsibility to support employees and the community in fighting against the pandemic and overcoming the vicissitudes of the fourth wave.

Since the start of the pandemic, the company has proactively thrown its full weight behind pandemic prevention and control measures, following 5K COVID-19 guidelines to ensure the safety of its employees. The company has provided masks, hand sanitiser, disinfectant spray, and other necessary medical supplies to workers. It has also secured vaccines and allowed employees to work from home to protect their safety.

Along with efforts to maintain the “green zone” within the company, TCPVN has been consistently giving timely support and sharing the burdens of frontline teams, especially in high-risk areas.

Recently, the company has donated medical facilities and equipment to the COVID-19 treatment hospital in Phu Tan district, An Giang province. In August 2021, the company donated more than VND2 billion ($86,960) in cash and medical products and is increasing donations of medical equipment and supplies to support frontliners. Of the donations, VND1 billion ($43,480), almost equivalent to an oxygen generating container, went to the Vietnam Young Physicians’ Association; and one ambulance worth more than VND810 million ($35,220) was presented to District 11 Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. That helped to address the most urgent needs of the city at a time when pandemic prevention and control were still lacking.

Nguyen Huu Tu, permanent vice chairman of the Vietnam Young Physicians’ Association said: “Researching and inventing equipment to meet the immediate demands of treatment teams is critical in the fight against the pandemic. Thanks to the contributions of TCPVN, we can rapidly send oxygen supply containers to frontline medical teams. This equipment is vital for treatment and saving the lives of COVID-19 patients.”

In addition to medical equipment, TCPVN also contributed 10,600 boxes of Red Bull and Warrior energy drinks to keep up the spirit and strength of doctors and frontline teams in Ho Chi Minh City and 18 cities and provinces in the south.

In the early stages of the outbreak in the northern provinces of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh, Warrior Energy Drink also contributed VND200 million ($8,700) in cash and 600 boxes of products to help people in the two provinces.

In 2020, TCPVN contributed more than VND5 billion ($217,390) in cash and 8,683 boxes of products for the COVID-19 prevention and control programmes of agencies and organisations from the central to local levels.

Emphasising the importance of CSR in emergency situations, Nguyen Thanh Huan, general director of TCPVN said: “Community benefit is always top-of-mind at TCPVN in all facets of our operations in Vietnam. We are constantly rolling out practical and timely initiatives for the country and the people. We hope that TCPVN’s efforts, together with other businesses, will ease the burdens and support the government in bringing all of our people through this crisis.”

Pursuing sustainability

While being prepared to confront the challenges the community faces, TCPVN remains steadfastly committed to sustainable development, solving socioeconomic and environmental problems, spreading positive energy, and improving people’s lives.

TCP Group and TPCVN both have numerous sustainability initiatives to deliver a better and happier life to the community in Southeast Asia and Asia. As a result, TCP Group has announced the TCP Sustainability development framework, which consists of three major pillars: Integrity, Quality, and Harmony. In the context of this framework, TCP Group participates in six sectors: supply chain sustainability; sustainable corporate governance; a good working environment for employees; food safety and nutrition; environmental protection, and socioeconomic growth. TCP Group intends to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all. It also creates opportunities for the community to overcome material difficulties while gaining access to utilities for good nutrition, health, and education.

The group also ensures the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all, at the same time as protecting, restoring, and promoting the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems (forest, land, biodiversity). These initiatives contribute to creating an equal world, giving opportunities to all people, regardless of gender, age, and background.

With the above direction, TCPVN implements activities to foster and develop young talents through initiatives like the collaboration between Red Bull Energy Drink and Hoang Anh Gia Lai Football Club (HAGL). Of the collaboration, the football talent selection programme “Activate the inner strength of future football players” provides opportunities for talented young people aged 15-20 to access and pursue their dream of playing football with the help of professional trainers and coaching units. Moreover, the collaboration also means to encourage young talents to be confident, brave, and unleash their inner strength to conquer their burning passions.

More than 300 candidates had the opportunity to show what they got to the football coaches and professional players at the first selection stage in Tien Giang province. The initiative continues to promote positive energy and incite young people who love and have a talent for football to dream higher across South Vietnam and the Central Highlands.

“Young people pursuing their passion will encounter many hurdles, yet their ambitions and aspirations never fade. We hope to add more positive energy to excite young people to unleash their physical and mental strength. This is also part of TCPVN’s sustainable development strategy, which we have pursued since our very first days in Vietnam,” Huan stated.

TCPVN aims to be a force for good in Vietnam, promoting sustainability and positive energy among the communities with non-stop activities. Verified in its sentiment by positive results, the company will continue promoting programmes that help to reinforce sustainable development and distribute positive energy across the community.
