Saigon Autotech & Accessories 2018 stimulates supporting industries

The exhibition returns for its 14th edition from May 24 to 27 at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City

Saigon Autotech is one of the most prestigious specialised exhibitions with the longest history in the automobile, motorcycle, electric bike, and supporting industries in Vietnam. This year, the exhibition attracted more than 200 domestic and international enterprises who are seeking potential partners and business opportunities in Vietnam.

Covering a space of 10,000 square metres, the four-day event showcases automobiles, motorcycles, electric bikes, and spare parts. Other fields of display include lights, locking systems, and hydraulic braking systems with the aim of diversifying products.

Saigon Autotech puts the Vietnamese automobile supporting industries into focus

One of the key activities of Saigon Autotech 2018 is the seminar on "Supporting Industry—A golden key for the development of the Vietnamese automobile industry" with the aim of updating information on governmental policies related to the supporting industries in particular and the automobile industry in general.

According to Vo Tan Thanh, vice chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Vietnamese automobile supporting industry has taken shape, but only a few types of spare parts are manufactured,such as mirrors, electrical wires, and batteries. Meanwhile, there are many opportunities for the automobile industry to develop on the back of improving living standards, the rising average income, and the stable economic situation.

"Enterprises and business leaders should create solutions to develop supporting industries," he said, "Policies on the automobile industry must give priority to supporting big enterprises so as to create sufficient market capacity. As a result, the development of the supporting industry will help small- and medium-sized enterprises in the field to grow stronger and larger."

Saigon Autotech is also a platform for manufacturers, suppliers, and customers to connect and strengthen relationships

The exhibition has created a useful forum for enterprises and domestic and foreign partners to share experiences and promote products through several business matching activities. Thereby, it will continue to promote the development of the Vietnamese automobile and supporting industries.

Saigon Autotech is organised by Asia Trade Fair and Business Promotion JSC (ATFA) under the sponsorship of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Vietnam Association for Supporting Industry (VASI), and other related ministries and branches.
