‘Play for Change Internship’, and the Ho Chi Minh City-based University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced that five undergraduates have been awarded internships. This continues the success of last year’s programme that saw two participants finding employment with MP & Silva.

The ‘Play for Change Internship’ programme, now in its second year, drew an overwhelming response for applications. At a ceremony held in the university recently, five excited university students from the journalism and communications faculty received the chance of a lifetime to kick-start their sports media careers with an internship at MP & Silva, one of world’s leading sports media rights agencies and a corporate partner of Play for Change.

The two-month programme will involve a professional internship at MP & Silva’s Asian headquarters based in Singapore, in addition to industry attachments with broadcasters in Vietnam. In Singapore, the interns will receive supervised instruction in a professional work environment through an inter-disciplinary programme, which includes sports media production and sports marketing and communications.

The five undergraduates are Nguyen Minh Trung (3rd year), Pham Thi Ngoc Hanh (3rd year), Nguyen Huynh Mai (3rd year), Doan Tran Anh Tu (3rd year) and Nguyen Tung Linh (4th year). One-year employment contracts in the company’s Hanoi office may be offered to the top performing interns upon graduation.

Two graduates from the inaugural group of students who excelled at last year’s internship successfully found employment with MP & Silva. Nguyen Thi Xuan Huong’s role includes satellite operations and administration support, while Nguyen Quang Huy’s job involves client servicing and broadcast and piracy monitoring.
