In a global landscape increasingly shifting towards green and sustainable development, ESG has emerged as a critical benchmark for evaluating corporate competence and reputation, particularly within the real estate industry.

Recognising this trend, Novaland has identified the integration of ESG into its growth strategy as a key priority and a catalyst to enhance its competitiveness, attract investment, and contribute to the nation’s developmental trajectory.

“We live in an era of profound transformation, driven not only by rapid economic changes but also by environmental shifts, societal demands, and heightened corporate governance expectations. In this context, deeply integrating ESG principles into corporate strategy and operations is essential to drive sustainable growth from 2025 onward. This will lay a robust foundation for development through 2030 and secure long-term competitive advantages,” said Hoang Duc Hung, an independent member of Novaland Group’s board of directors, at the signing ceremony.

Nguyen Thi Huong Thu, CEO of GreenViet, stated that the company was confident that this partnership with Novaland will deliver tangible benefits for businesses, communities, and the environment.

“GreenViet is committed to advising on a flexible, actionable, and integrated ESG roadmap tailored to Novaland’s scale and vision, targeting top-tier GRESB rankings by 2030,” Huong said.

Accordingly, GreenViet will conduct assessments, formulate ESG strategies for the group and associated projects, and apply a hybrid approach combining multiple models, methods, and strategies to harmonise overarching goals with operational specifics.

For Novaland, ESG transformation transcends top-down directives, evolving into a collective ethos across the organisation. The group has established an ESG, risk, and strategy committee to oversee implementation. Each department and project is tasked with defining specific ESG objectives, executing action plans, and committing to regular internal audits to ensure compliance with GRESB standards.

Since early 2025, Novaland has introduced a set of ESG standards for both corporate and project levels. Concurrently, the group has spearheaded a series of practical initiatives focusing on energy efficiency, renewable energy development, biodiversity conservation, and optimised waste management. Corporate governance practices are being continuously upgraded to enhance transparency in decision-making, risk mitigation, and stakeholder value optimisation.

The partnership with GreenViet aligns with Novaland’s roadmap to become an ESG-compliant leader at a global level. It is expected to bolster the group’s ability to tap into green investment funds, enhance its brand reputation, and contribute to Vietnam’s goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting a circular economy.

As Vietnam’s pioneer in green building certifications such as LEED, LOTUS, EDGE, BCA GreenMark, WELL, and Fitwel, GreenViet has collaborated with major domestic and Southeast Asian enterprises. With over 12 years of practical experience, GreenViet is one of only seven global consultancies to achieve the triple LEED Proven Provider certification from the US Green Building Council. It is also GRESB’s first partner in Vietnam, the global assessor of ESG performance in the real estate industry.
