At a conference to commend substantial taxpayers, Nestlé Vietnam was awarded the certificate of merit by the Ministry of Finance thanks to its contribution to the socioeconomic development and state budget and its good performance when participating in the digital transformation programme of the finance and tax sectors.
The company continues to rank in the list of the 1,000 largest corporate taxpayers in Vietnam (V1000) in 2022. Nestlé Vietnam has been on the V1000 list by the General Department of Taxation since 2016, based on the corporate income tax payment to the state budget annually.
During 2020–2022, Vietnam experienced the outbreak of the pandemic and the new normal. The business community and society face many challenges in recovering post-pandemic. Despite these challenges, Nestlé Vietnam has made efforts to maintain manufacturing activities and goods flows.
In particular, the company has still ensured stable employment and healthcare programmes for its employees. These are financial guarantees (including salary and welfare), ensuring their safety in both physical and mental health, strengthening recognition and reward activities, and promoting the company’s activities that create human connections.
In addition, the company has constantly implemented activities to support the community. In 2022, Nestlé Vietnam joined forces with partners to donate to charity activities and deliver nutritional products to disadvantaged households and workers, with a total value of nearly $774,246.
Nestlé Vietnam has been named the most sustainable company in Vietnam for two consecutive years, 2021 and 2022, in the manufacturing sector. The vote is within the Programme on Benchmarking and Announcing Sustainable Businesses (CSI Programme) by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.
Established in Vietnam in 1995, Nestlé Vietnam currently operates four factories and two distribution centres in Dong Nai and Hung Yen provinces, employing more than 2,000 staff and creating indirect jobs for over 10,000 employees across its supply chain.
Over the past three decades, Nestlé Vietnam has continuously expanded its investment and diversified its products to meet food and nutrition demands. The company aims to optimise the role of food to improve the quality of life in Vietnam today and for generations to come. The company has so far poured a total capital of over $730 million into Vietnam.
Every year, Nestlé purchases 20–25 per cent of Vietnam’s coffee volume, with a total average amount reaching $700 million per year.
