Millions people in Hanoi pour into street to cheer with Vietnam football team |
Just a few minutes after the historical 1-0 win against Malaysia in the second leg of the finals played in Hanoi on December 15, Hanoi’s streets were already teeming with people and vehicles.
Numerous streets, including Nguyen Chi Thanh, Cau Giay, Kim Ma, Nguyen Thai Hoc, as well as the entire area around My Dinh stadium and Hoan Kiem Lake, were thronged by adults, children, men, and women shouting and waving flags, with some using buckets as makeshift drums.
Millions of football lovers stayed up through the night to celebrate this historical win. The last time Vietnam won the regional title was in 2008.
