A US$100,000 grant agreement to support needy Vietnamese children was inked on July 14th between the Vietnam Children Support Fund and Lotte Corporation of the Republic of Korea, in the presence of Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, Chairman of the Vietnam Children Support Council.

Accordingly, the money will be used to finance the five-year support study program (2013-2017) and provide clean water for children in needy localities.

At present, Vietnam has 200,000 children at risk of dropping out of school and 15,000 temporary classes. Children in remote areas and ethnic groups have to live in dilapidated boarding houses without kitchens, toilets and clean water.

Committed to accompany Vietnamese children in any circumstances, the fund is trying its best to ease the difficulties facing these needy children in their studies.
