Looking to appeal to customer tastes, Japanese-backed Honda Vietnam rolled out the new version of the Honda Rebel 500 last month.

The Rebel 500 first appeared at the Vietnam Motorcycle Show in May 2017 and was officially launched for sale at Honda Moto Shop in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 3 a year later.

The model has quickly gained the trust of customers who are in love with the combination of a classic, timeless look and forward-looking, contemporary style of a cruiser.

The bike impresses owners with two new colours (Pearl Cadet Grey and Mat Axis Grey Metallic), which not only create a fresh, unique look but also highlight the throwback, classical features of the model.

Distinct features of the new Honda Rebel 500 include a powerful engine, unique style, and a more comfortable riding position.

In comparison with the usual colour tone of high displacement bikes, the grey brings a different character, bringing in a sense of unique modernity for owners. Meanwhile, the metallic counterpart characterises the simple and raw style the Rebel 500 aims for.

The new model represents a lifestyle and an attitude, as well as a means of expressing individuality. The expectations for the Rebel 500 are totally different to other models as its neat design, along with low seat height, makes driving easier at slower and average speeds.

Since the model is a motorcycle that targets both experienced and new riders, the Rebel 500’s engine was designed to offer the kind of torque and midrange power that is well-suited for all levels of riders.

The heart of the vehicle is a two cylinder, 471cc, liquid-cooled engine, with PGM-FI. The engine generates the maximum output of 34 kW per 8,500 rpm and maximum torque of 43.2 Nm per 6,500 rpm.

New Rebel 500s are equipped with a dual-channel anti-lock braking system to enhance the driving experience for users on every journey.

The ignition is housed below the left side of the fuel tank and the bike’s speedometer is equipped with a blue-backlight LCD screen, which is a glorious ode to the bike’s reductionist design allowing riders to easily observe the necessary information.

The new version of the Rebel 500, imported from Thailand, is available to buy at Honda Moto Shop in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City at the retail price of VND180 million ($7,800), VAT included.
