Teachers, parents, and more than 24 million students across the country went to school on September 5 to celebrate the opening ceremony of the 2019-2020 school year.

In the morning, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended the opening ceremony of the new school year at Son Tay High School, Hanoi together with Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha and Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung.
Drumming to welcome the new school year, PM Phuc then took a short talk with the teachers and students of the school.

PM Phuc wished Son Tay High School a successful new school year and affirmed that education and training are always high on the party and the state's list of priorities and lauded the numerous achievements of the education system.

This year, teachers and students of Thap Muoi High School were honoured to welcome National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan attending the opening ceremony.
"Students should strive hard and diligently learn and practice, have a positive learning method combining learning with practice so that the knowledge they gain will be deeper, stronger, and truly useful in their lives,” NA Chairwoman Ngan reminded.
