The contest was hosted by HNEW as well as the Hanoi Women’s Union and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The contest also celebrate October 10’s Liberation Day, October 13’s Vietnam Business Day, and October 20’s Vietnam Women’s Day.
The five finalists who received the Golden Lotus award included leaders from Dat Viet, VAC Media & Communication Holdings Group, Talentpool JSC, Hien Le Trading and Service Co., and Van Lan Co. The five winners will act as ambassadors for different social activities during 2013-2014.
The contest included two rounds. The first was held online between September 22 and 28 and selected 15 businesswomen operating in different fields to attend the second and final round last week.
The final round judged the 15 semi-finalists on style, presentation, and knowledge.
Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thanh, chairwoman of the Hanoi Women’s Union, said that against the backdrop of difficult economic circumstances the purpose of the event was to respect the talent and style of businesswomen.
The contest was also an encouragement to women leaders to overcome amid turmoil, she added.
