Canon’s new marketing subsidiary, Canon Marketing Vietnam Company Limited (CMV) with investment of $3 million from Canon Singapore, planned to start operations in August, 2012 with around 40 employees.
The new company aims to create an import, distribution, sales and services system for Canon products in Vietnam. It will support Le Bao Minh, Canon’s authorised dealer in Vietnam, and other dealers in areas of sales, marketing and services.
“We regard the Asia market as most important and Vietnam is definitely one of our most important market as it is quickly becoming one of leading economies in the region. This is due to its strong growth, a young and hard working workforce and the government’s commitment to develop country further,” said Hideki Ozawa, president of Canon Asia Marketing Group.
With the establishing our a sales company in Vietnam, Canon had set up targets of its revenue would exceed $500 million by 2016 and take the top market position in all major products of digital cameras, business machines and printers in Vietnam, said Noriji Yoshida, general director of CMV.
“We plan to grow the Canon brand here and target to achieve $10 billion in sales turnover in 2013 and $15 billion sales turnover in 2015. Therefore, we have big plans for Vietnam as it will play a big part in achieving our goal,” said Ozawa.
