Chot Mat, an ancient tower in Tam Phong Commune in Tay Ninh Province’s Tan Bien District near the borderline with Cambodia, is a must-see destination for tourists.

The relic, which is about 18 km from Tay Ninh City to the northwest, was built in the 8th century during the Oc Eo civilization.

According to the Indochina Archeological Research Institute, the brick-made tower is 10 meters high and has similar features with the renowned Po Sah Inu Tower in the central coast city of Phan Thiet.

Apart from Chot Mat, Tay Ninh Province also has another ancient tower named Binh Thanh in Trang Bang District which is restored almost to its original shape.

Hereunder are some photos at the site by  - The Saigon Times Daily’s contributor Quynh Van.
