From September 1 to 26, the Youth Volunteer Club is organising the “Mid-Autumn Festival” and charity programme for poor children, orphans and disadvantaged people.

The programme aims to bring fun and smiles for more than 1,000 disadvantaged persons, including 819 pupils from three poor wards in Muong Te district, the northern mountainous province of Lai Chau, namely Pa U, Ka Lang and Ta Tong. 50 disadvantaged children from Hanoi and 161 orphans and elderly from the Centre for Hoa Binh Social Protection have also participated.

Besides the art performances, the organisation board holds a charity programme aiming to call for donations of more than 1,000 moon cakes, 2,000 fresh milk bottles and school supplies.

“It is the 14th programme of our club. The previous programmes received a lot of donations from various kind-hearted benefactors. Thanks to compassionate hearts, disadvantaged people, in general, and poor children from the mountainous provinces, in particular, know the Mid-Autumn Festival, the shape and taste of moon cakes. Small moon cakes bring fun both for children and their parents. This year, we hope the program will attract even more benefactors,” said Do Cong Huan, a representative from the organisation board of the Youth Volunteer Club.

Benefactors can contact Do Cong Huan on the mobile phone number: 0968 355 704 to donate. Besides, benefactors can directly donate moon cakes, school supplies and cash at 82A Dang Xuan Bang street, Hoang Mai district and Xoan Cafe, No.5, 411 lane, Truong Chinh street, Bach Mai district in Hanoi.

Founded in May 1998, the Youth Volunteer Club set out as its mission to take care of poor children, orphans, children with disabilities and disadvantaged people as well as protect children’s rights.
