‘Little cetus’ Phuong Tram wins bronzes at US national championships

Vietnamese ‘little cetus’ Nguyen Diep Phuong Tram and her teammates in Pleasanton Seahawks Swimming club have grabbed two bronze medals at Junior National Championships in Minnesota, the US.

Accordingly, they won in two events including 4x200-meter freestyle and 4x100-meter medley relay.

Previously, the 15-year-old swimmer triumphed 5 gold and 2 silver medals at Far Western Championships 2016 held in the US on July 27-31.

Tram left Vietnam for the US on June 5 to have a training session in Pleasanton Seahawks Swimming Club in California.

Tram is expected to be one of Vietnam’s top female swimmers.

Last year, she won nine gold medals in the national junior swimming event, broke two national records in the national senior event.

She has also won nine gold medals and broken five records at the 2015 Southeast Asian Age Groups Swimming Championships.
