Providing each set fetches VND8 million ($385), total sales revenue of Pico system from this single product would reach VND6.4 billion ($308,000) a day.

“Sales of cooling equipment like electric fans and air conditioners jumped 30 per cent against corresponding period last year,” said Pico deputy marketing head Nguyen Quang Duc.

HC Giai Phong Supermarket deputy director Nguyen Quang Tuan said sales of air conditioners and fans at the supermarket rose by 10-fold in mid-May.

Duc said, apart from family households the customers purchased in huge volumes for offices, organisations and urban areas were the core factor leading to Pico system’s recent buoyant sales.

“Pico hopes the whole system would reach VND3.3 trillion ($158 million) revenue in 2013, up 10 per cent on-year,” said Duc.

Energy efficient air conditioners have proven a core product line leading the air conditioning market segment this year, according to a Sen Viet Technical Trading Company Limited source.
