The annual consumer finance seminar, which will be organised by VIR on May 21, will focus on the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the finance sector, as well as the existing difficulties and opportunities for growth in the coming time.

VIR's annual consumer finance seminar will focus on the aftermath of COVID-19

Consumer finance is an attractive sector in foreign investors’ eyes, with international big shots like Shinhan Card, Lotte Card, Hyundai Card, and Shinsei Bank already making forays into the market.

Consumer finance will likely see another growth spurt after the COVID-19 pandemic is brought under control in Vietnam,bolstering economic growth. Besides, the ensuing economic recovery is an opportunity for consumer finance companies to grow even further.

However, in the context of the risk of a second outbreak, consumer finance companies are warned to draw up their development strategies prudently.

Aware of the importance of consumer finance on socio-economic development, VIR will organise the seminar tomorrow in order to discuss the role of this sector after the pandemic as well as its importance in ensuring social security.

In addition, high-profile participants will clarify the rights and responsibility of borrowers as well as discuss the largest painpoints for consumers and service providers..

The seminar will take place in the morning of May 21, 2020 at the headquarters of VIR at 47 Quan Thanh Street, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi.
