VIR kicks off the 15th Swing For the Kids charity golf tournament

VIR kicks off its annual charity golf tournament Swing for the Kids, hosted with the support of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Vietnam Society of Learning Promotion.

The Swing for the Kids tournament is hosted as part of the institutions' combined efforts to realise the dreams of further education for disadvantaged students in Vietnam.

Golf has not only become a popular sport in Vietnam but also acts as a platform for charity.

Since its official launch in 2007, Swing for the Kids has grown to be a noteworthy social sports event, and its social significance is garnering critical acclaim and approval by the general public as well as the kind-hearted amateur golfers from across Vietnam.

Swing for the Kids has been enjoying an avalanche of support by the business community that pursues golf as a leisure activity as well as the local sports community. The tournament has also become an exchange platform for politicians, diplomats, and entrepreneurs across the nation.

Swing for the Kids has connected generous donors and underprivileged students with scarce access to education in numerous areas in the country. The heartfelt support from local and international sponsors for the event brings many opportunities to these students to realise their dreams of a successful future.

Throughout the past fourteen years, the event has raised over $800,000 and handed out almost 18,000 scholarships to outstanding young students in need of financial support, as well as enabled upgraded learning facilities in 40 cities and provinces across Vietnam.

The 15^th Swing for the Kids will take place on April 16 at BRG Kings’ Island Golf Resort in Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi, with the participation of more than 280 golfers.
