In just two weeks of July, over 2,800 ultramarathoners achieved the remarkable feat of surpassing their fundraising goal for a bridge in Dong Thap, demonstrating the powerful impact of sports on the community.

With the aspiration to build a community of individuals pushing their limits, Kusto Home's online running challenge, Dare To Run, has served as a place for passionate individuals to spread the spirit of sportsmanship and contribute to their communities.

Each year, the race sets ambitious goals, not only in terms of distance covered but also in terms of its social impact. In 2023, over 2,200 people across Vietnam collectively ran 100,000k and raised VND200 million ($7,900) for bridge construction in Son La province.

Dare to Run 2024, taking place from mid-July to the end of August, set similarly ambitious targets: 150,000km and VND150 million ($5,950) to support bridge construction in Dong Thap province.

However, members of the running community not only conquered countless the kilometre goal but also surpassed all challenges by the end of July. Simultaneously, they have raised the target figure for a community development fund, partnering with the Hope Foundation to build a dream bridge for the residents of Tan Quy Tay commune in Sa Dec city of Dong Thap.

Thanks to the active contributions of Ambassador Nguyen Van Long and the Dare To Run community, a new bridge will soon connect the riverbanks, bringing new opportunities to local people.

As the first Vietnamese marathoner to successfully conquer the arduous cross-country running challenges from Tra Co to Ca Mau and Hanoi to Saigon, Long also solidified his status as a relentless conqueror who consistently pushes the boundaries of human potential.

By partnering with Dare To Run 2024 as an ambassador, Long has provided a living testament to the powerful connection between athletic pursuits and social responsibility, organisers said. Sharing a common goal, both the athlete and the race series aim to promote healthy lifestyles, encourage individuals to push their limits, and make a positive impact on society.
