Vietnam NA delegation welcomed in Laos

On January 30, Deputy Chairman of the Lao National Assembly Saysomphon Phomvihan received visiting Chairwoman of the Vietnamese National Assembly’s Committee for Social Affairs Truong Thi Mai.

Mai, who is leading a Vietnamese delegation on a working visit to Laos from January 28-30, informed her host of the outcomes of talks she had with the Lao NA’s Committee for Social Affairs, relevant ministries and sectors, and expressed her pleasure at the rapid changes in Laos.

She said it is very useful to enhance bilateral co-operation in law-making, inspection work and law surveys, especially in the health sector.

Mai said she hoped that the two sides will continue sharing information and experiences to promote co-operation and nurture the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

For his part, the Lao official briefed the Vietnamese delegation on his country’s socio-economic situation, and said he highly valued the outcomes of talks between the two committees.

He expressed his wish that the two sides will enhance co-operative ties, in particular to improve the quality of public healthcare, which will strengthen the two countries’ developing relations.
