UK asked to support poverty reduction

Viet Nam expects the UK would continue support the Southeast Asian country’s efforts in poverty reduction, said PM Nguyen Tan Dung while meeting with former UK PM Tony Blair in Ha Noi on Wednesday.

The Vietnamese leader affirmed that Viet Nam also hopes to expand the strategic partnership with the UK.

Mr. Blair said he was impressed with Viet Nam’s socio-economic achievements and realization of the millennium development goals over the past years.

He expressed his belief in Viet Nam’s long-term development potential and highly valued the country’s active international integration, economic and business environment reform.

Mr. Blair affirmed he is ready to share experience of luring foreign capital, coping with climate change, developing the public-private partnership, and training human resources. 

During his stay in Viet Nam, former PM Tony Blair will also meet with Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh and a seminar on global investment trend..
