Officially established when the national doi moi policy and international integration were kick-started, VIR’s development over the past 27 years (September 27, 1991 – September 27, 2018) has always been closely linked with the ups and downs of Vietnam’s economy and the domestic and foreign business communities.
Starting out with two newspapers, one in English and one in Vietnamese, VIR has grown into a leading multi-media group with five regular printed publications, four online newswires, and other prestigious special editions. VIR has succeeded in holding many big events, drawing special attention from investors, experts, international organisations, and the business community.
These successes would not have been possible without the growing contributions of the press office’s leadership, reporters, editors, and staff. Over the past 27 years, they have turned VIR into one of the leaders in the Vietnamese press world.
In addition, VIR would not be where it is today without the great confidence and company of our treasured readers and partners who have been relying on us in the past nearly three decades.
The Editorial Board of VIR and all its staff would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the leaders of Vietnamese government agencies, colleagues, partners, and readers for accompanying VIR over the past 27 years. In the future, VIR will continue providing insightful information, making itself a firmer bridge between government agencies and international organisations, as well as domestic and foreign businesses.
