Siemens has launched a diagnostics business in Vietnam with Siemens Healthcare Day 2012.

Siemens Healthcare Day 2012 was held in Ho Chi Minh City and will be held in Hanoi on May 25th led by the theme “Ahappier world begins with a healthier world”.

The event aimed to introduce Siemens' comprehensive portfolio of diagnostics products and solutions to Vietnam. There will be about 300 laboratory managers, medical technologists and hospital administrators from medical institutions across the country attendinga half-day symposium on the latest breakthroughs in laboratory diagnostics and clinical utility of novel diagnostics markers.

It underscores Siemens' commitment to continue to invest in Vietnam and provide the cutting-edge in vitro diagnostics solutions for the advancement of the health of Vietnamese people.

Along with medical imaging, clinical laboratory diagnostics helps to provide clinicians with the vital information they need to diagnose the diseases accurately.

The event is also used by Siemens to introduce its innovations in laboratory diagnostics as well as the clinical utility of Vitamin D testing and the testing solutions for liver health.

A broad spectrum of advanced diagnostics products and solutions will be demonstrated at the marketplace which exhibits over 12 stations showcasing many solutions.

By further strengthening its presence in the healthcare industry, Siemens Healthcare began expanding their solution portfolio in 2006 with the acquisition of three leading diagnostics solutions providers - Dade Behring, Bayer Diagnostics and Diagnostic Products Corporation.

This new business was integral to Siemens’s overall strategy to help its customers streamline workflow as well as improve quality of patient care at reduced costs. Siemens is now the world’s first and largest integrated healthcare company providing medical imaging, laboratory diagnostics, clinical IT, medical information technology and hearing aids.

“From now on, Siemens will directly provide technical services and application support to medical organisations in Vietnam to ensure maximum uptime of the diagnostics systems, highest throughput and best quality. We are also strengthening our technical sales support in the country to make sure our customers get state-of-the-art solutions which fit their specific needs. Siemens will continue to cooperate with our trusted partners including Mai Dong  and Delta in the south as well as Eastern and Thanh Cong in the north to provide state-of-the-art diagnostics products and solutions to the Vietnamese market,” said Etienne Szivo, executive vice president of Siemens Healthcare, who is also heading the business of the Diagnostic Division for his assigned countries.

“Besides, Siemens also offers unparalleled educational opportunities and training that keep laboratory staff updated on product information and key trends in disease state management. The Siemens Healthcare Days 2012 mark just the beginning of our commitments in Vietnam,” said Fabrice Leguet, vice president of Siemens Healthcare in Vietnam.
