Siemens Group has launched a danger management station for fire detection systems.

The group’s Building Technologies Division is introducing MM8000 Express, a danger management station specifically designed for fire safety. The system visualizes the installed fire detection system on floor plans and thereby permits easy supervision. The Express version is suitable for smaller installations and can be easily expanded as needed.

MM8000 Express is a lean and cost-effective version of the proven MM8000 danger management station from Siemens. The Express version was developed specifically for use in fire safety systems in smaller-scale environments. Typical applications include hotels and office buildings, schools and amusement parks as well as smaller shopping centers.

The new system supports fire detection systems with up to four control panels and a maximum of 2,000 detectors and peripheral devices. It displays alarms, status messages and other events in a prioritised list and visualises them on the floor plan using icons. When an alarm occurs, the system issues instructions to provide operators with the best possible support in this stressful situation.
MM8000 Express also includes a history database that stores all events as well as the measures taken by the operators.

MM8000 Express runs on a standard Windows PC and is a safe investment. If additional security subsystems must be added to the fire installation, for example access control, video surveillance or intrusion detection, the Express version can be upgraded to the full version of the MM8000 danger management station.
