Two months later, the airline achieved a remarkable feat, just 14 years after its relaunch, being named Airline of the Year 2011 at the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards with over 18 million travellers worldwide casting their votes.

Qatar Airways has 180-degree horizontal flat beds in First Class beds on both Airbus A330s and A340s. All classes in these aircraft type have personal video screens. The Boeing 777 fleet features 180-degree horizontal flat bed Business Class sleeper seats with a seat pitch of 78 inches, while Economy Class has a seat pitch of up to 34 inches. All passengers have access to seat-back TV screens and an interactive audio and video entertainment system with more than 900 different entertainment options.
Qatar Airways was the first airline in the world to pass the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit with a maximum 100 per cent compliance in 2003 and passed the test again during the two-year renewal period in 2005, 2007, 2009 and, in June 2011.
The airline operates over 100 one of the youngest aircrafts in the world.
