PM proposes measures for business development

The PM made that statement at the Government regular meeting on May 27.

Ministries, agencies and localities were required to clear obstacles and barriers in investment and business activities, complete policies on tax and expenditure, simplify administrative procedures in terms of business establishment, credit, tax, social insurance, customs, land, construction and investment as well as carry out effectively mechanisms, policies and measures for agriculture, industry and service developments.

The PM demanded to organize information support activities and training courses for enterprises to take advantages of Viet Nam's joining of the ASEAN Community and its signing of Free Trade Agreements in the future.

Monetary policy needs to be flexible to effectively facilitate businesses' and economic corporations' access to credits to enhance production and exports.

Earlier, Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh announced information about the performances of businesses over the past five months of the year.

Accordingly, the nation recorded a total number of 36,055 newly-established enterprises in five months with a total registered capital of VND219,336 billion, up 15.5% in number and 26.3% in capital. This means more than 10 businesses were set up every hour.

The average capital reached VND6.1 billion, a year-on-year increase of 9.4%. The number of re-operating enterprises increased 5.9%, with 7,404 ones.

As many as 22,705 businesses had to stop operation, down 5.3% compared to the same period last year. Of the figure, 94% were small-scaled ones.

The number of dissolved enterprises saw a year-on-year decline of 0.5%, attaining 3,884 ones, mainly in fields of retails, sales, car and motorbike repairing, accounting for 5% of the total number of businesses in operation.
