Ninth session of 13th NA opens

The ninth session of the 13th National Assembly (NA), officially opened on May 20 in Ha Noi. It will last till June 26.  

After NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung made a opening speech, Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc is presenting a report on the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and State budget in 2014 and in the first months of 2015.

President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan will present voters’ comments and petitions.

Chairman of the NA Economic Committee Nguyen Van Giau will present the report on investigating the Government’s report on the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and State budget in 2014 and in the early months of 2015.

As many as 11 draft laws are expected to be approved and 15 others will be scrutinized at the session.

Among the 11 bills set to be approved, some are on the organization and functions of administrative agencies at different levels such as the revised law on the organization of the Government and the law on the organization of local administrations.

The draft law on the election of NA and People’s Council deputies along with the draft law on the promulgation of legal documents will also be ratified during this session.

A total number of 15 bills will be discussed related to judicial activities such as the revised Penal Code, the revised Civil Code, the revised Civil Procedure Code, the law on the organization of criminal investigation agencies and the law on temporary detention and arrest.
