NhanViet Management Group (NVM Group) has officially launched the result of its “Student and Career Survey 2011”.

Following the success of Student and Career Survey 2009 and 2010, this year, the survey was conducted from August 2011 to November 2011 with the participation of 925 students including 58 per cent senior students and 42 per cent junior students from selected universities in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

This is the first year that NVM Group conducted the survey in Hanoi. The report provides information including the career choice and professional path definition, attitude about the career development, training and skills needed for the career choice from student’s points of view, assessing the any talent development programme on the market and desired employers.

The report shows that students are quite clearly in choosing career path after graduated.  70 per cent of survey respondents said they were willing to be a staff as a way for all of them to start the career path. Of those participations, the majority (70 per cent) said they will start from scratch in the company while 30 per cent of respondents said they were self-confident with their personal strengths and the knowledge learnt from universities and wanted to start their career path at middle management level.

76 per cent students in this survey believe that they are ready to work with the knowledge learnt from the universities. Salary is one of top five reasons for students to choose the first working place after graduated. The average salary rate would be VND5-6 million ($250-$300) per month.

Nearly 70 per cent of students surveyed indicated that foreign companies were more appealing to them than any other business types. The leading of desired employers among the group of foreign companies is Unilever Vietnam.

Most of organisations are listed in the list of desired employers have “Young Talent Development Programme” which is planned to attract, develop, and retain young talent. Those enterprises often organise programmes for young talent such Management Trainee, Talent Development, Fresh Sales Supervisor and Talent Converging Programme.
