Piaggio has made a spectacular hattrick in the Vietnamese market when introducing at the same time its two strategic Vespa scooters today – all new Vespa Primavera and new Vespa GTS right after the recent admired Vespa 946 launch.

This is a strong statement to reaffirm Piaggio’s pioneering and leading position in the local premium scooter segment targeting to both male and female riders in Vietnam.

The youngest and most dynamic Vespa spirit that has always driven the world's best-loved two-wheeler returns to the model that uses it so well. The Vespa Primavera legend is back.

Like a new fresh air of the spring, all new Vespa Primavera comes in town bringing Vespa attitude to Vietnam. “Vespa Primavera – Unleash” is as the brand has and always will be the champion of liberated generation.

The first Vespa Primavera emerged in 1960s. This was the year that witnessed a new awareness amongst the younger generation in Europe that suddenly wanted to yell for freedom. The year when every classic mould broke down, marking the history of western culture forever.

Vespa Primavera made its first appearance in that tumult of ideas and fervour, becoming the star by making two wheels and an engine available to the changing world: it became the heroine of an unforgettable season. Nimble, innovative lines, sparkling performance, easy and fun to ride - Vespa Primavera was a breath of fresh air in a world hungry for change. It went on to become one of the most durable and best-loved models in the Vespa story.

Costantino Sambuy, general director of Piaggio Vietnam told the media that with the introduction and production of Vespa Primavera, Piaggio Vietnam would stop churning out Vespa LX scooters which were produced at the debut of Piaggio Vietnam’s industrial complex in the northern province of Vinh Phuc more than four years ago.

With Vespa GTS Super 125cc, today Piaggio is back on stage for this male segment. It is now manufactured in Vietnam and makes the dream of sporty Vespa addicts comes true.

Vespa GTS 125cc demonstrates the ambition of today’s GTS man as a successful gentleman. He’s at the top of his game. Life as an adventurous free spirit, yet still brings all the confidence and style that comes from being a high-flyer.

For the first time ever in the marketplace, Piaggio Vietnam also announced today its new policy of three year warranty or 30,000km applicable for Vespa Primavera and GTS Super 125cc. A Vespa Primavera 125cc costs VND68.8 million with VAT included and a GTS Super 125cc at VND79.8 million.

Piaggio Vietnam’s industrial complex located in Vinh Phuc province has vehicle assembly factory and engine production factory. The vehicle factory began production in June 2009, producing Vespa scooters, Liberty high-wheel scooters, Fly innovative compact scooters and Zip entry scooters. The engine production factory opened in March last year.

According to the company, in May Piaggio Vietnam celebrated its 300,000th scooter and 50,000th engine produced in this industrial complex. In addition to winning a leading role in the premium sector of the Vietnamese market, Piaggio Vietnam has enabled the group to move into very important new markets in Southeast Asia, notably Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan and Malaysia, the Philippines and Cambodia.

Piaggio expects that Asia will make up 50 per cent of the group’s total revenue in 2014, compared to 8 per cent in 2003 and 25 per cent in 2009.
