Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park honoured at international innovation exhibition

At the International Exhibition of Science and Technology Innovation, more than 400 leading Asian scientific and innovative works were selected from 16 Asia Pacific countries. Countries and ideas that bring scientific and creative achievements were celebrated at the conference held at the Coex convention centre.

The Korea Invention Promotion Association awarded a silver medal to Nam Cau Kien Eco-Industrial Park

The Vietnamese delegation to the conference included works that have won the Vietnam Innovative Science Prize - Vifotec 2021 and were selected by the scientific council of the organising committee as the leading scientists and economists in Asia.

Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park, Hai Phong, was awarded a special creative award by the Masaei Charitable Association for Pham Hong Diep. The investor of Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park has successfully built an ecological industrial park model and was awarded a silver medal by the Korean Invention Promotion Association for this innovative work.

In addition, the creative works of the Dat Viet ceramic company, the Institute of Agricultural Mechatronics and Post-Harvest Technology, the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, the Hanoi Bach Khoa Energy and Environment JSC, and the works of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering were awarded Gold, Silver, Bronze.

Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park started construction in 2008, and so far has completed investment phase I, attracting 55 domestic and foreign investors.

On August 1, 2020, phase II of Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park, with a total investment capital of more than VND 1.5 trillion, kicked off with the ground-breaking event for the key project.

In the complex, there is a Japanese garden project Kyousei-no-niwa, which connects phases I and II of the Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park Project.

The garden was designed and supervised by Japanese and Vietnamese engineers. It is arranged to cover the premises of the wastewater treatment plant and the functional lakes connected to the park along the central canal. After 56 days and nights of construction, the Japanese garden was inaugurated on December 1, 2020.

Tatsuya Yamamoto, director of Viet Nhat Mechanical Co., Ltd (a secondary investor in Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park) said, “I find the construction of the Kyousei-no-niwa Japanese garden a good initiative for environmental protection. In particular, the wastewater recirculation system of the treatment plant has turned wastewater into clean water, which is used for the regulation pond and Japanese garden."

Pham Hong Diep, chairman of the Board of Directors of Shinec JSC, the investor of Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park, said that after 13 years of development, the new industrial park had completed 80 per cent of the criteria specified in the original plans.

For example, the area for trees, traffic, and shared service infrastructure is 82.01 ha, accounting for over 31 per cent (the plan was for 25-30). Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park has also been formed with three main symbiotic focuses: symbiotic association in metallurgy and mechanical engineering; symbiotic association of electronics and electronic auxiliary industries; and symbiotic association in the industry of plastic and plastic products. These groups have made maximum use of renewable materials, so no waste is left outside the industrial park.
