HSBC Bank (Vietnam) officially launched on June 22 a high-interest online savings account to help their personal financial customers earn bigger returns on their savings.

Customers can simply transfer funds from their existing regular personal savings or current accounts to the new online account via the internet to earn a higher, flexible rate of interest. Funds can be placed or withdrawn at any time, with no minimum deposit required, which means customers can gain access to their money at any time.

There is no account opening or closing fee, and interest is accrued daily and credited to the account at the end of every calendar month. The new online savings account, which is the bank’s latest addition to its retail banking services portfolio, evidences the bank’s commitment to constantly introducing value-added services to enhance the banking experience of its customers.

“Yet, unlike other high-interest savings products, there is no minimum tenor which means customers can access their money whenever they wish. Now customers can benefit from high returns without tying up their cash,” said Lyndsay Rajah, HSBC (Vietnam) head of personal financial services department.

This is an addition to current internet banking applications, which allow customers to carry out various self service banking transactions such as managing personal account contact details, receiving e-Statements and e-Advice for deposit and credit card accounts, checking bank account and credit card balances, viewing transaction history or latest time deposit rates.

This will bring convenience and flexibility to customers while completing transactions with HSBC. Further benefits include transferring funds between accounts, checking and redeeming credit card reward points, setting up time deposit accounts or registering for products and services.
