DPRK Party delegation visits Ha Long Bay

A high ranking delegation from the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) toured the World Heritage site Ha Long Bay in the northern province of Quang Ninh on February 27.

The delegation was led by Ri Su Yong, Politburo member, Vice Chairman of the WPK Central Committee and head of the WPK International Affairs Department; Kim Pyong Hae, Politburo member, Vice Chairman of the WPK Central Committee and head of the WPK Cadres' Affairs Department; and O Su Yong, Politburo member, Vice Chairman of the WPK Central Committee, and head of the WPK Economic Affairs Department.

The tour was part of the WPK delegation’s sidelines activities during their trip to Vietnam for the second DPRK – US Summit in Hanoi and the official friendship visit to Vietnam by Chairman of the WPK and the State Affairs Commission Kim Jong-un.

In Quang Ninh, the delegation was welcomed by Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Doc and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Long.

At the reception, Doc introduced the province’s potential and strengths to the delegation, recalling the visit to Ha Long Bay made by then WPK Chairman Kim Il-sung in November 1964.

Ri Su Yong, on behalf of the delegation, thanked the local authorities for the warm welcome they have received.
