The package organised by Alibaba is a specially designed offering aimed at supporting Vietnam's small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and helping them seamlessly embark on or expand their global digital transformation journeys.
Selikoff further assisted local SMEs with more understanding of overseas markets, especially how to successfully launch products across major retailers and marketplaces.
“The US wanys valuable goods with reasonable prices while Vietnam is growing its reputation as a preferred sourcing hub, and offers different options,” Selikoff said.
He also recommended strategies for Vietnamese sellers to build robust partnerships with international clients.
Crucial elements which Selikoff advised were responsiveness, transparency, and product readiness, which are vital for successfully entering demanding markets like the US.
“We encourage Vietnamese suppliers to capitalise on their inherent strengths, reliability, craftsmanship, and a customer service mindset,” he said.
Young Liu, head of Vietnam Business at Alibaba.com, shared that with the Guarantee Package, the company is offering more than just a tool.
“We are crafting a comprehensive roadmap for Vietnamese SMEs. Alibaba’s vision is to empower businesses to rise above global market volatility and transform trade challenges into successful opportunities. We believe that with the right support, Vietnamese enterprises can participate in global e-commerce and lead its evolution in the digital age," said Liu.

With the B2B e-commerce market projected to reach $20.9 trillion by 2027, according to Research and Markets, and 53 per cent of Vietnamese enterprises expressing a strong interest in expanding exports through e-commerce channels, as noted by VECOM, this package is expected to be a useful tool for Vietnamese SMEs in reaching out to the global market.
Through the solution, Vietnamese businesses can access about 50 million global B2B buyers of Alibaba, and 70-80 per cent of them are in the US and Europe, according to Alibaba.
