PM attends Viet Nam Business Forum

PM Nguyen Tan Dung attended the mid-term Viet Nam Business Forum (VBF) 2015 themed ‘Enhancing Enterprise Competitiveness for Global Integration’ organized in Ha Noi on June 9.

The forum’s agenda comprises an overview on business environment; Trade, Tourism and Investment - Issues of implementation of new Laws on Investments, Enterprises, Housing, Real Estate Business; Banking and Capital Markets - Modernization needs for positive growth; and Infrastructure - Requirements for PPP implementations, port strengthening and power generation needs in Master Plan VII.

The VBF is an annual dialogue between the Vietnamese Government and the international business community with the aim of improving necessary business conditions to boost the development of the private sector, building a favorable business environment, and contributing to sustainable economic development in Viet Nam.

The forum has accompanied with the country’s institutional improvements and economic management innovation for nearly two decades, helping the competitiveness of the economy and businesses increase and foreign direct investment attraction become more effective.

Addressing the VBF’s opening ceremony, Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh reviewed the implementation of 2015 socio-economic tasks and identified difficulties facing the economy.

He also highlighted the Government’s measures to address the difficulties and expressed his belief that with the support from international organizations, donors and business consortiums, the economy would develop in a more effective fashion.

PM Dung made a keynote address at the VBF.
