According to the MoF’s document, during an inspection the authority detected numerous violations at Euro Auto’s business operations.
Notably, the company arbitrarily bought BMW automobiles without completing customs clearance or receiving the customs authority’s permits.
The company also refused to provide certificates of origin as well as the relevant files of BMW automobiles for the authority, thus drawing suspicions of trade fraud.
Furthermore, Euro Auto used counterfeit bills and sales contracts to import BMW automobiles.
In order to prevent smuggling and trade fraud, tax evasion as well as to protect customers’ rights, the MoF asked the General Department of Vietnam Customs to suspend the customs clearance of BMW automobiles, with the exception of those enjoying special incentives or diplomatic immunity.
