Vietnam’s national football team has moved down 22 places to stand at 120th position in the FIFA rankings in July, marking their departure from the top 100.

Vietnam still leads ASEAN nations, however, followed by Thailand (135th position), the Philippines (152nd position), Indonesia (153rd position), Malaysia (157th position) and Singapore (158th position).

In Asia, Japan tops the list at 20th place, followed by Australia, the Republic of Korea, Iran and Uzbekistan.

Vietnam’s new ranking places them at 16th position amongst Asian nations.

Winning the EURO 2012 championship, Spain continues to top the global rankings with 1691 points, now even further ahead of second placed Germany on 1502 points. Third place currently goes to Uruguay.

In a surprise shift, Brazil has fallen by 6 places and is out of the top 10 for the first time since FIFA rankings began in 1992. The team now sits at 11th position.

Meanwhile, EURO 2012’s runner-up Italy has jumped six notches to 6th position.

The next FIFA rankings will be announced on August 8, 2012.
