Tien Minh defeats host for easy win
Top Vietnamese badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh has come through to the pre-quarter final round of the Yonex Australian Badminton Open after a decisive victory yesterday.
Minh beat 705th ranked 21-year-old Australian Mitchell Wheller 21-7 and 21- 5 in only 17 minutes.
Earlier on April 2, Minh earned a hard-fought win, 17-21, 21-9 and 21-8, over second seeded Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin from Malaysia.
On April 4, Minh is expected to face Kai Guo from China, who saw off Korean Park Sung Min 21-18, 13-21, 21-19 in another match, on April 4.
