In her capacity as Area Director, Loi is responsible for managing the Board’s operations, marketing and promotional activities across Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
Vietnamis among Singapore’s top key markets in tourism. From January to September 2010, the number of Vietnamese visitors to Singapore grew by 23.6 per cent to over 250,000, compared to the same period last year, making Vietnam one of the fastest growing markets of visitors to Singapore.
In her role, Loi will focus on strengthening Singapore’s appeal as a destination to Vietnamese consumers, not only for leisure but also for healthcare and education purposes. She will also facilitate bilateral relations and cooperation between both the Vietnam and Singapore governments in the area of tourism, such as for cruise tourism, in which STB can play an active role in bringing together the sharing of expertise by Singapore businesses and investors with Vietnamese officials and businesses.
In addition, Loi will work to enhance Singapore as the premier destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE), enabling Vietnam’s corporates and organisations to establish its network with global businesses, as well as to learn from thought leaders of respective fields through the various business events and seminars that are organised in Singapore.
“I am delighted with my new role, which is challenging but rewarding at the same time. Vietnam is a key market of visitors for Singapore, with arrivals growing at a healthy rate in recent years. I look forward to sharing Singapore with more Vietnamese consumers,” she said.
The STB is an economic development agency for one of Singapore’s key service sectors – tourism. The mission of the board is to develop and champion tourism, so as to build the sector into a key driver of economic growth for Singapore. STB aims to differentiate and market Singapore as a must-visit destination offering enriching experiences through the “YourSingapore” destination brand, which it launched to much acclaim in 2010.
