Song Thu hands over specialized ship to Vietsopetro
Song Thu Corporation under the General Department of Defence Industry officially handed over specialized vessel FCS 5009 Express to Russia-Vietnam oil and gas joint venture Vietsovpetro in Da Nang City on May 4th.
The “FCS 5009”, launched in December 2012 after 11 months of construction, is a high-speed passenger vessel designed by the Dutch Damen Group, meeting all international marine standards.
It is the first time Vietsovpetro has inked a shipbuilding contract with the domestic shipbuilder. The construction completed one month ahead of the schedule.
Once operational, the ship will effectively contribute to Vietsopetro’s oil and gas probe and exploitation in the future.
